Service & process

How long does pressure washing take?

Typical timeframes:

  • Small driveway: 2–3 hours
  • Large driveway: 3–4 hours
  • Small patio: 1–2 hours
  • Medium patio: 2–3 hours
  • House render (3-bed semi): 3–5 hours

Heavily soiled surfaces or stubborn oil stains need extra pre-treatment time. We don’t rush jobs.

What’s your service area?

20-mile radius from Redhill (RH1). Primary areas: Redhill, Reigate, Horley, Dorking, Banstead, Crawley. We cover all RH postcodes (RH1–RH11), CR3 (Caterham), SM7 (Banstead), and KT17–KT24 (Epsom/Leatherhead). View all areas.

Do I need to be home during the work?

Not necessarily. For external work like driveways and patios, you don’t need to be present as long as we have access to the area and an outside water supply. We’ll discuss access when we quote.

What happens to the dirty water?

Dirty water typically drains away naturally into your existing drainage, soakaway or lawn. We make sure no pooling water is left and remove all debris from site.

How quickly can you provide the service?

Most weeks, same or next-day for the core RH/KT/SM/CR postcodes. During busy spring/summer periods, booking may take 1–2 weeks. Let us know if it’s urgent — we’ll prioritise where we can.

Surfaces & technique

Does pressure washing damage concrete or paving?

When done correctly by a professional, no. There are a lot of myths on this. The key is the right pressure for the surface:

  • Concrete: handles high pressure
  • Block paving: medium pressure to keep the joint sand
  • Natural stone: lower pressure to preserve the stone
  • Render: soft-wash technique only
  • Tarmac: carefully controlled pressure

Our full pressure washing guide explains the right settings for each material.

Is pressure washing safe for block paving?

Yes — block paving is designed for it. We use the right pressure to clean without displacing the kiln-dried sand, then re-sand the joints as standard. Block paving cleaning.

Can you remove oil stains from driveways?

Yes, in most cases. Specialist degreasers and the right technique remove or significantly reduce oil staining. Very old, deep-set stains may not lift completely — we’ll be straight with you on expected results when we quote. See our full stain removal guide.

How do you remove black spots from patios?

Black spots are lichen embedded in the stone. We apply a specialist biocide, allow it to work, then pressure wash on the right setting for the surface. Stubborn spots may need a repeat treatment. Some ghosting can remain on very porous stone — we’ll tell you up front.

My patio is slippery — can you help?

Yes. Slippery patios are caused by algae growth in shaded or damp areas. Pressure washing removes all algae, moss and organic matter and restores grip. We can also apply anti-slip treatments where the area needs it.

Can you clean green algae from rendered walls?

Yes — with a soft wash, not high pressure. Render cleaning uses low pressure plus a specialist biocide so algae is killed at the root and the render isn’t damaged.

Do you remove weeds from block paving?

Yes — weed removal from joints is part of block paving cleaning. We then re-sand with weed-resistant kiln-dried sand and can apply a sealant on request.

Will pressure washing damage my plants?

No — we cover sensitive plants where needed and rinse any splashed leaves with fresh water. Standard cleaning solutions are plant-safe at the dilutions we use. For specialist chemicals we take extra precautions.

Booking, weather & insurance

Are you insured?

Yes — full public liability insurance. Happy to share proof on request.

Can you pressure wash in winter?

Yes — weather permitting. We avoid freezing conditions because water can freeze on surfaces. Mild winter days (above 3°C) are fine, and winter cleaning helps prevent moss and algae build-up over the wet season.

What’s the best time of year to pressure wash a driveway?

Spring (March–May) lifts winter grime before summer; autumn (September–November) clears summer algae before winter. Avoid hard frost periods and direct midsummer heat.

How often should I pressure wash my driveway?

Every 1–2 years is the sweet spot. Annual is better for shaded drives, north-facing areas and high-traffic surfaces. Block paving benefits from annual cleaning and re-sanding.

Other services

Do you offer sealing?

Yes — sealing for driveways, patios and block paving. It protects against staining, locks in colour, makes future cleans easier and slows weed regrowth in joints. Best done immediately after cleaning. Quoted separately.

Can you clean commercial properties?

Yes — commercial jetwashing for car parks, forecourts, warehouse floors, shop fronts and more. Out-of-hours scheduling available to minimise disruption.

Do you clean gutters?

Yes — gutter cleaning by ground-level vacuum extraction, with camera inspection on request. Often bundled with a render or roof clean.

Does pressure washing add value to my home?

Yes — a clean drive, patio and render meaningfully boost first impressions and resale value. See our breakdown in how kerb appeal affects property value.
