How much is driveway cleaning in Reigate, and can you come today?
The short answer: driveway cleaning in Reigate (RH2) starts at £4 per square metre for tarmac and concrete, £5 for block paving, so most 50m² double drives land between £200 and £300, and the larger sweeping drives up around Reigate Hill run £300 to £400. £80 minimum. Same Day JetWash is based in Redhill, two minutes down the hill, with same-day and next-day slots and a callback inside 2 hours. Call 01737 652 515.
Driveway cleaning means pre-treating the moss and algae, machine-washing the whole surface with a rotary surface cleaner, hand-lancing the edges, then dealing with the aftermath: weeds out, joints re-sanded with kiln dried sand on block paving, slurry cleared, everything bagged and taken away. That last bit is the difference between a proper job and a wet mess left on your verge or washed down towards Priory Park. It is all part of our full driveway cleaning service across east Surrey.
Key facts: driveway cleaning in Reigate (RH2)
- From £4/m² for tarmac and concrete, from £5/m² for block paving, in line with our published price list. £80 minimum charge.
- Re-sanding with kiln dried sand is included on every block paving clean, never an extra.
- Heavy moss or years of neglect can add up to 50%, the same uplift our cost calculator uses.
- Reigate High Street sits almost on the boundary between the North Downs Chalk to the north and the Lower Greensand and Weald Clay to the south, mapped by the British Geological Survey[1], so drives either side of town green over on different clocks.
- No hosepipe ban here: SES Water, which supplies RH2, has no ban in place as of 9 July 2026[2]. We carry tanked water on bigger jobs anyway.
Driveway cleaning prices in Reigate (RH2)
Real ranges, no “from £19” nonsense that turns into £90 on the doorstep. The table below is built from the same rates as our pricing page and cost calculator, applied to the drive sizes we actually see across RH2, from the tight town-centre forecourts to the big detached plots up the Hill.
| Drive size | Tarmac / concrete | Block paving (re-sand included) | Typical RH2 example |
|---|---|---|---|
| Single drive (20–30m²) | £80–£120 | £100–£150 | Old Town and West Street forecourts |
| Double drive (40–50m²) | £160–£200 | £200–£250 | Woodhatch and South Park semis |
| Large / sweeping (60–90m²) | £240–£340 | £300–£400 | Reigate Hill and Wray Common detached homes |
£80 minimum on every job. Heavy moss, oil staining or years without a clean can add up to 50% for the extra pre-treatment and time. On the biggest Reigate Hill drives the m² rate eases, ask when we quote. Want it pinned down now? Try the cost calculator or send a photo.

Block paving, tarmac, concrete and resin drives in Reigate
Reigate straddles two very different bits of ground within a ten-minute walk of the High Street. North of town, Reigate Hill, Wray Lane and Wray Common sit on the free-draining North Downs Chalk; south of town, Woodhatch, South Park and Dovers Green sit on Lower Greensand and Weald Clay that holds its moisture[1]. Add the mature beech and oak of the North Downs shading the drives up the Hill, and you get the same pattern every time: the shaded half greens over first. What that means for each surface:
- Block paving on the estates. Woodhatch, South Park and Dovers Green are wall-to-wall block paving. The joints are the weak point: sand washes out, weeds and moss move in, and the whole drive looks tired even where the bricks are sound. On the clay-and-greensand side those joints empty faster, so re-sanding earns its keep. We wash, kill the weeds and re-sand with kiln dried sand as standard. More on the surface itself on our block paving cleaning page.
- Big sweeping drives up the Hill. Reigate Hill and Wray Common detached homes often run to 60–90m² of block paving or resin, shaded by beech and oak. The chalk drains well, but the tree canopy keeps the surface damp so biofilm builds before the drive even looks dirty. We bring commercial-grade kit so a big drive does not take all day.
- Concrete and tarmac in the town centre. The Victorian and Edwardian streets around the Old Town, West Street and Chart Lane mostly have small concrete or tarmac forecourts, some inside the conservation area. Quick jobs, usually at or near the £80 minimum, and the difference between grey-black and actually-its-original-colour is startling.
- Resin-bound drives. A few of the newer Skimmington and Reigate Heath builds have resin. It cleans up well but hates high pressure up close, the binder can scar, so we run lower pressure and more chemistry. We price these on a photo or a quick look first.
What’s included in a Reigate driveway clean
- Walk the drive first. Surface, condition, which side of the High Street you are on, drainage, oil stains, anything loose or cracked. If a repair is what you actually need, we say so rather than wash over the problem.
- Pre-treat. Moss and algae get a biocide treatment before the water goes anywhere near it, with a longer dwell on the shaded north-facing drives up the Hill. The dilution and dwell time do the work, not brute pressure.
- Machine wash. Rotary surface cleaner across the field of the drive for an even, stripe-free finish, then the lance for edges, corners and the awkward bits by the garage door.
- Weeds and joints. Weeds cleared from the joints, and on block paving we re-sand with kiln dried sand once the surface has dried off. Included, always, and doubly worth it on the Woodhatch and South Park clay side where joints wash out fastest.
- Tidy up. Slurry and debris bagged and taken away, paths and gullies rinsed down. We leave the drive clean and the rest of the frontage no worse than we found it.
Optional extras, priced honestly: oil stain treatment (some stains never fully lift from concrete, we’ll tell you before we start, and our oil stain guide shows what’s realistic) and sealing after the clean. Half of Surrey drives don’t need sealing at all, and on the damp clay side south of the High Street a sealer trapped over surface moisture can blister, so we’ll only quote it where it earns its keep.
Streets and neighbourhoods we cover
All of RH2 is home turf: Reigate Hill, Wray Common, Woodhatch, South Park, Dovers Green, Reigate Heath and Skimmington, plus the town-centre streets around the Old Town, West Street, Chart Lane and Priory Park. Next door, Redhill and the rest of Surrey within 20 miles. See everything we clean in Reigate, and while we’re at your place it’s worth bundling: a patio clean on the same visit is cheaper than two callouts, and the same crew handles gutters, roofs and render soft washing too.
Why driveway quotes vary
Two Reigate drives the same size can be £100 apart, and the reasons are boring but real: surface type, condition, access, and whether re-sanding or sealing is in scope. A tight town-centre forecourt off West Street and a 70m² block-paved sweep up Reigate Hill are not the same job. Anyone quoting a flat “any driveway £60” is cutting one of those corners, the maths doesn’t work otherwise, and we’ve set out the full cost build-up in our UK driveway cleaning cost guide and a block-paving-specific breakdown in the block paving cleaning cost guide. If your drive only needs doing every couple of years, that’s what we’ll tell you.
Can you do same-day driveway cleaning in Reigate?
Often, yes, because we’re practically next door. We’re a 2-man crew based in Redhill, two minutes down the hill from Reigate, not a national platform sub-contracting your job to whoever’s free in Croydon. Selling the house and the agent’s photographer is booked for Friday? Call early and there’s a fair chance we fit you in today or tomorrow. Worst case, callback within two hours, Sundays included. Call 01737 652 515 and we’ll tell you honestly what we can do.
